Five years ago, in the month of October, Nigerians all over the world were left in a state of mourning and confusion when 4 higher institution students in Rivers state were mobbed and killed by residence of Aluu community (Ikwerre Local Government) in Rivers.
The four boys had come to collect money owed to them by a fellow student early in the morning, but unfortunately, someone shouted 'thief' on them, and without proper investigation, the people of the Aluu community carried out jungle justice on the boys, in a most barbaric way of hitting them on the head with heavy stones, before burning them alive.
The 4 became the Aluu 4 to the world, and Nigerian citizens all over cried out for justice. It is good to hear that some justice has been served in this 5 year long case. According to Daily Post, 3 out of the 7 people standing trial in court over the killing of Aluu 4 have been found guilty and sentenced to death.
Originally, 12 people were arraigned in court at the beginning of the case in 2012, but 5 out the 12 were discharged early this year.
