Yep! It might interest you to know that the most successful author in the world right now, James Patterson doesn't actually write his own books. He collaborates with unknown authors to get his books done fast. He gets the ideas for a novel outlined, and then employs the services of another writer to get the actual work done. This is one of the reasons he has so many books to his name in the market. Last year (2016) alone he made a whooping $95 million from his book sales. He might make over a hundred million dollars before this year runs out.
What an interesting concept, right? It makes writers like me angry when I think about the hours and hours I slave away at my laptop, typing out my every thought for a story. But then again, maybe it isn't such a bad thing. At least the plot of the story is originally his, it is just the stringing of words together that is that of another author. And he has said that he is simply more proficient at dreaming up plots than crafting sentence after sentence. At least he is more honest than some other big name authors that use ghost writers and make the world believe they still write all their books; James Patterson gives credit to all his writing collaborators in all his books.
