Yesterday evening, A 33 years old mother Fatima Balogun was in Abeaokuta to Visit her Armed Robbery boy friend Ganiyu Ajibode who is in Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) Abeokuta, Ogun state capital while she try to smuggle a phone hidden inside a cooler of soup she brought for her boy friend. She was cut by one of the prison guards who searched the cooler before it is been handed over to Ganiyu
According to Fatima who claim to have met her Armed Robbery boy friend Ganiyu two year ago which was after her divorce from her children's father. she said its her first time to visit Ganiyu who has been in the prison custody for six months. Fatima said she only try to smuggle in the phone so she could have full access of communication with her boy friend.
The Controller of Prisons, Ogun State Command, CP Benson Abolade, said the suspect was arrested for trafficking in Prison, which he said was against the operation of the prison and that the command has contacted the police for prosecution, saying, “it was aimed at serving as deterrent to others
