In the lawsuit, King claimed he was happily married until his wife's lover came into the picture and ruined it all. "Ive compared it to like a nuclear bomb going on around my surroundings," King said. "My marriage was murdered."
The judge agreed and ordered the other man to pay 2.2million in a compensatory damages and $6.6 million in punitive damages. While this may sound like a come up, some people argue that alienation of affection laws are outdated and based on when a married woman was considered her husband's property.
Alination of Affection laws still exist in six states.
