39-Year-Old Man Killed His Ex-Wife, Their Son Then Shot Himself In Queens New-York

James Shields, 39, shot and killed his 6-year-old son James Jr, right, then shot his ex-wife, his current wife and himself on Monday at his home in Queens, New York.

The gunman's ex-wife, 47-year-old Linda Olthof, was also shot dead. The Dutch woman arrived in New York with her son in July.

Police remove a small body from the apartment where the little boy was shot along with his parents and stepmother on Monday night.

One of the three adults killed is shown being removed from the apartment on Monday. Police does not know the order in which they were slaughtered.

The gunman complained that he only ever got to see his son once a year for two weeks when his mother brought him to the US. It is not clear what prompted his sudden rampage of rage on Monday night but he had been crippled financially by his ongoing effort to gain custody.

Shields complained online that his ex-wife Linda 'ran back home to Holland' after falling pregnant because she 'could not find work.'

Shields had two, legally registered Glock pistols and 70 round of ammunition loaded in separate magazines when he was found.
